Yesterday, was New Years Eve! Today was a pretty laid back day, but one that turned into an absolutely wonderful way to ring in the New Year. Last night I spent my time with a special friend. We ate dinner at one of my favorite local places, Old Venice Pizza Co. It was DELICIOUS. Then later we went and looked at the stars and admired God's brilliant art work ending the night with fireworks, friends and lots of conversation.
Now that I have given you a background of what happened yesterday, it is safe to say that I was extremely tired when it came time to wake up and go to the church service, this task was not easy as my bed was very warm and I didn't want to leave it. But then I got to thinking about how I can't think of a more wonderful way to start my year, with God; worshipping, praying, and fellowshipping with fellow believers. It was wonderful.
Here is where the picture comes in! After church, the friend previously mentioned came over to watch the Saints game and I made what, after a few mishaps and embarrassments, turned out to be an absolute success...chicken, mashed potatoes, and green peas...all of my favorites!
After eating lunch and finishing the football game I was very blessed to be invited to eat a fabulous dinner (I don't get too many home cooked meals these days) prepared by my friends family and had a wonderful time getting to know them and watching even more football!
Today was a very wonderful day that gave me much to be thankful for. I am very excited about this upcoming year and ready to see what God has in store for me in all the areas of my life.
