Random Thoughts for a Random Day

Consider yourself warned...Its going to be three stories instead of one today!

Thought 1:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

This particular bible verse has been running through my head a lot recently.  So many times I find myself worrying about this and that and never really focusing on the fact that God has got it all under control.  Now, none of us are perfect and none of us are going to put our trust in Him perfectly all the time, but isn't that something that we should strive for?  Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we aren't quite sure what to do whether they are good, bad, or simply unexpected.  If we just remember that merely putting our trust in the Lord will keep us on the right path, there would be so much less worry in our lives.  Believe me, this is not easy seeing as I myself am one of the world's worst worriers.  So trust God in everything you do, He will never lead you in the wrong direction!

Thought 2:

I am SO TIRED of Astronomy, and judging by this picture, I think my lab TA is too.  Every night in lab we have to answer at least 5 discussion questions about the day's lecture and this is proof that my TA has had enough just like the rest of us.  It came to be 9:45 and we had only come up with 4 questions.  His solution? "If you went to another planet and aliens were there, what would they look like?"  I'm starting to like this guy.  We all had a good chuckle and enjoyed seeing each others ideas of what an alien would look like.  (This is what I came up with!)  I enjoyed being able to have a moment of creativity seeing as we have been doing a lot of extensive astronomical calculations every night.  This was a nice change.  We'll see if he asks another crazy question tonight!

Thought 3:

Man do I love having a Starbucks on campus.  Now, this wasn't my intention when I got up for class today.  Usually coffee makes me way too jittery and sitting in a lecture for 2.5 hours with caffeine running through my system hasn't quite been an appealing thought these past few days.  However, it is FREEZING outside.  When I left my apartment for class at 1:30, it was only 34 degrees outside! I am not okay with this.  And to make it even worse, the wind here is absolutely ridiculous.  Needless to say, the Cafe Mocha was just too tempting little ole me freezing my butt off waiting to get to my lecture.  I think I made the right choice, and thankful I managed to sit through the entire lecture without too much fidgeting. :)
